When I was opening the package of these spongy pink rollers last night I couldn't help but think of all the times I'd worn them myself as a little girl. Reminded of the countless Saturday nights our mom would roll our freshly washed hair section by section and my sister and I would toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable with a hair full of curlers.
I, of course, had to sit through the ordeal for about 30 minutes longer than my sister since her hair always required about 4 rollers and mine required about 25. And on Sunday morning when mom would unroll all those strands, I'd leave for church a curly-frizzy haired mess (tied up neatly at the top with a bow of course) and Meg's hair would be as straight as it was the night before all before we got to the church parking lot.
Chloe wanted to try 'curly hair' after we saw her friend Allison at school with a curly ponytail. She though those curls were soo pretty and she's been begging me to try it on her every since. She doesn't like to sit long enough for me to curl it with a curling iron so I suggested these. After I got hers all rolled up, she ran into the bathroom with excitement and giggled at her reflection in the mirror. I thought for sure she would want to take them out after she went to bed, but she slept with them in all night. When I was tucking her in, she exclaimed 'I CAN'T WAIT to see my beautiful curls in the morning'.

Those pictures are PRECIOUS!! And you just told me this past weekend that you didn't remember many events from your childhood. So happy the pink sponge rollers stuck in the crevices of your mind. I LOL at your description of Sunday morning; oh so true! Now be sure to post some pics of the morning ponytail! love you, Mom

So sweet! Watch out, now she's going to want curly hair ALL THE TIME! Allison loves loves to have her hair in rollers but if one falls out while she is sleeping it is the end of the world!:)
Chloe looked so cute this morning in her curly pony tail and cute spring dress! Hope you guys had fun today!

So cute! Where are the "after" pictures?
Btw, our memories of those evil little pink things from our childhood are the same. ;)

Seriously cute! I'm very impressed that she slept on them all night...
Oh how I remeber when we were little all the hard work only to enjoy my straight hair..I'm glad Chloe has a little curl and can enjoy the fruits of her labor. I guess she is learning early that 'Beauty is a Duty' :)
Can't wait to see the after pic :)

This story made me LOL remembering my sister's Sunday morning 'do. She had stick-straight hair and my mother would put her in TIGHT pincurls a couple of times a week, but inexplicably, only on the lower half of her head. She'd go to church with straight bangs and a ring of tight curls from one ear to the other. Glad it wasn't me. ;-)
Looking forward to the after pics!

Absolutely adorable. I can't stop looking at the second pic. I can't stop smiling. My grandmother would roll my hair in those, too. I miss her.

Kel, I chuckled as your friends Staci and Erica went through the exact same routine for years! Such memories. I'm glad your Chloe enjoyed her 'curls' and some day she will remind you of this as well! Blessing to you all!
